Biography (1)

  • Md Tofajjol Hossen Bhuiyan is an Assistant Professor of Physics at Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST), Pabna, Bangladesh. He has completed his Bachelor of Science [B.Sc. (Honours)] with distinction award and CGPA 3.82 on a scale of 4.00 and Master of Science [M.S. (Thesis)] with distinction award and outstanding CGPA 3.99 on a scale of 4.00 in Physics from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). He has started his career as a Lecturer of Physics at the World University of Bangladesh (WUB), Dhaka. Then he switched that job and joined DRiCM under the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) as a Scientific Officer (SO). In 2020, at the 3rd convocation of SUST, he was awarded the Chancellor’s Gold Medal and Vice-Chancellor’s award in recognition of the highest talent and achievement among all graduates of the University and highest CGPA in the Faculty of Science at the master level in the session of 2007-2008 respectively. He went to China with a Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) to pursue his Ph.D. in 2019. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, he returned to Bangladesh leaving his degree incomplete. Recently he got Monash Graduate Scholarship (MGS) and Monash International Tuition Scholarship (MITS) from Monash University, Australia, and preparing to accomplish his Ph.D. He authors many research journals and his research areas include Condensed Matter Physics, Solid State Physics, Nanostructure & Nanoelectronics, and Quantum Electronics & Magnetism.

  • Besides teaching I have also worked as an administrator in different sectors (such as chairman of the examination committee of first year 1st semester exam 2018 and member of several examination committees, syllabus committee and academic committee of the department of Physics, PUST).
  • During my stay in the DRiCM, BCSIR as a scientific officer, I have prepared ISO/IEC 17025 calibration documents for accreditation and I have successfully conducted a training program on Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) as resource personnel organized by BCSIR and hosted by DRiCM.
