Biography (1)

  • A. H. M. Monzurul Mamun is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and Environment at Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST), Bangladesh. His academic work centers on climate change adaptation, urban and rural environmental challenges, household-level vulnerability, and the socioeconomic determinants of risk and resilience. His research integrates field-based household surveys and quantitative modeling to examine how communities perceive, respond to, and adapt to environmental stressors, including heat stress, flooding, groundwater depletion, food price shocks, and urban environmental risks. He has led and contributed to multiple empirical studies at the municipal and community scales, with particular emphasis on evidence-based adaptation strategies, policy-relevant indicators, and composite indices of vulnerability, food security, and adaptive capacity. He actively engages in methodological development, including the design of perception–practice gap models, adaptation indices, and survey instruments for applied climate and development research. His work aims to bridge science–policy interfaces by translating local evidence into actionable insights for urban governance, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable development planning.
