Biography (1)
- Dr. Sm Faysal Bellah joined the Department of Pharmacy at Pabna University of Science and Technology as an Associate Professor on February 08, 2026. Immediately prior to this appointment, he served as Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at Bangladesh University from August 03, 2025 to February 07, 2026. In 2025, Dr. Bellah also held an international research position as Visiting Research Associate in the Drug Discovery and Biotechnology Unit at the University of Nigeria, where he worked from January 01 to July 31, 2025. Earlier, he served as Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at State University of Bangladesh from July 08 to December 31, 2024. Dr. Bellah’s academic career is marked by over a decade of sustained teaching, research, and academic service. He served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at Manarat International University from April 2013 to June 2024, contributing extensively to pharmaceutical education, curriculum development, and student mentorship. Prior to entering academia, he gained substantial industry experience as a Senior Quality Control Officer at Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (FDA-approved facility, Track-II), where he worked from June 06, 2007 to April 22, 2013. His responsibilities included quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and analytical supervision within a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Dr. Bellah's academic journey is marked by extraordinary achievements. He earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honors) from the Pharmacy Discipline, Life Science School, Khulna University, Khulna, Bangladesh, with a perfect CGPA of 4.0 out of 4.0, securing the first-class first position. He further pursued academic excellence by obtaining a Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.) degree from the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. His M. Phil. thesis, titled “CYP3A4 and CYP3A5 Genetic Polymorphisms and Risk of Prostate Cancer,” showcased his deep insight into pharmacogenomics. Recognized for his outstanding academic performance, he was awarded the Merit Scholarship for both his Bachelor’s and M. Phil. degrees. Adding to his awards, Dr. Bellah was selected for the prestigious “CAS-TWAS President’s Fellowship Programme,” enabling him to pursue his doctoral (Ph.D.) studies at the University of Science and Technology of China. His innovative doctoral research, titled “Molecular Delineation of PLK1-Elicited ZW10 Function in Mitosis,” significantly advanced the understanding of mitotic mechanisms. Dr. Bellah is a registered A-Grade Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh. He possesses a diverse and specialized technical skill set, with proficiency in advanced laboratory instruments and technologies, including PCR machines, Alpha Innotech Imagers, UPLC, GC, HPLC, AAS, FTIR, Plume Geometry and Spray Pattern Analyzers, and Delta Vision Microscopes. His interdisciplinary research spans Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Pharmacogenomics, Cell Biology, and Cancer Biology. He participated the poster presentation in the Proceedings of the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) Special Conference: Prostate Cancer: Advances in Basic, Translational, and Clinical Research; 2017 Dec 2-5; Orlando, Florida. So far, he has published more than 46 articles in peer reviewed scientific journals as a first and co-authors and attended several international conferences in China has further solidified his standing in the global research community. His Google Scholar profile reveals an impressive citation count of over 466, an h-index of 13, and an i10-index of 16, underscoring the significant influence of his research contributions. In addition to his academic and research pursuits, Dr. Bellah plays a vital role in the scholarly community as a reviewer for the international peer-reviewed journal Heliyon, Intenational Journal of Breast Cancer, Future Journal of Pharmaceutical Journal, Cancer Biomarkers which is indexed in the Science Citation Index, Scopus, and PubMed. His unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and mentorship continues to inspire the next generation of pharmacists and researchers worldwide.
