Biography (1)

  • Md. Faruak Ahmad was born in a Philipnagar village in Kushtia, a southwestern district of the Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh. He passed S.S.C examination from P S S high school in 2004 and H.S.C examination from Meherpur Government College in 2006. He completed B. Sc. (Honors) (Thesis) in chemistry and M. S.(Thesis) in inorganic chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh in 2010 and 2012, respectively. His M. S thesis was synthesis characterization and optical properties of platinum ethynyl monomers and dimmers. He also awarded M. Phil degree in chemistry in the field of inorganic chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. His M. Phil thesis was mainly concerned about synthesis, characterization and material properties of acceptor and donor substituted platinum ethynyl monomers and dimers. After completing his graduation, he joined in the Department of Civil engineering, Leading University (LU) Sylhet as a Lecturer in 2014 and upgraded to the position of Senior Lecturer on 18 August 2016. Then he moved to the Department of Chemistry, Pabna University of Science and Technology in 2017 as a Lecturer. He promoted to the assistant professor in 2019. He served as assistant proctor of the university (PUST) for 4 years (1st June 2018 to 31 May 2022). He is a member of Bangladesh Crystallographic Association (BCA).
